Maja Mirkovic, MPH, RDN, CDN, CDE, BC-ADM holds a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Hunter College. She has worked as a Registered Dietitian for 8 years and has been a Certified Diabetes Educator for 6 years.
Maja is Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management and has completed her CDR Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management.
For the past 6 months, Maja has been working as Certified Diabetes Educator and Dietitian at the Institute for Family Health in the Bronx location. At IFH she improves diabetes outcomes by assisting patients with medication adjustments in direct correspondence with primary care providers. Maja also instructs patients on the use of insulin pens and devices and non insulin injectables. Through her one one education sessions, she aids patients in blood glucose pattern management and empowers them to be in control of their diabetes.
Maja has also served as a Co-Chair for Greater New York's Pediatric Special Interest Group. In 2018, she was awarded an Employee of the Year Award from Community Healthcare Network.
Her passion lies in providing Diabetes Self Management Education and Support (DSMES) to her patients while assisting them in achieving diabetes control.
